What is the difference in using ajax with ASP.Net 3.5
If you are working with ASP.NET 3.5 you dont need to download AJAX separately since it is the part of runtime.

All these things will work on VS 2008 only? Or I can use all these in VS 2005
These are part of SP1 for VS 2008 it will work only with VS 2008
I'am at present using Framework 2. how to migrate my project to 3.5 and VS 2008?
Opening the project with VS 2008 provides an interface to migrate to use 3.5 and if you chose to upgrade, it automatically converts the project/website to use the latest version. You can also chose to just work with .NET 2.0 even though you can use VS 2008 and its new features.
What do you mean by history enablement
When working with ASP.NET AJAX, history forms an integral part of logical back button navigation since the form doesnt have the collection of changes
